Red Dead Redemption 2 raised the bar for storytelling in big budget, AAA titles. Arthur Morgan's journey is unlike anything gaming has ever attempted before. The narrative is beautifully somber and emotionally impactful. The game play usually complements this vibe, with the shooting feeling heavy and the long horse rides giving players time to mull over the character's situation. Other times however, the gameplay results in unintentional hilarity. It is an open world game after all, and player freedom always leads to comedy gold. Here are ten ways this masterpiece is unintentionally hilarious, both in gameplay and in the st

This one is particularly troublesome, or hilarious, in the online portion of the game. The mission is done and the players start making their way back to the mission giver or a drop-off point. They are quietly strolling along when suddenly a player manages to get themselves knocked off the side of a cliff or flung off their equine. Maybe they themselves didn't bite the bullet, but the prisoner or bounty they were holding probably did. Some of these targets are fragile as glass once they are sitting atop the back of a horse with their hands t

Like Grand Theft Auto Online , Red Dead Dead Redemption 2 's multiplayer component allows players to create their very own outlaw. They can make the character male or female, tall or short, thin or thick. Players who make a plus-sized character will find that the clothes and physics weren't designed to accommodate their figure. Larger characters will find their jackets and loose accessories continually clipping through things, leading to continued laughs or annoyance when trotting through the open world. For a game that prides itself on realism, this sure was interesting oversi

In the game's bid for realism, Arthur's hair, both on his scalp and face, grows throughout gameplay. As days and nights pass, his head gets progressively hairier, to the point where he looks like he's been living in a cave for years. It certainly adds to the immersion, but it's also pretty funny to see him show up with a beard and long locks after a time jump. Fortunately, barbers are never too far away to make him more presentable, if that's what the player wa

The song that stood out the most for me personally was Revenge Is A Dish Best Eaten , which served as the musical counterpart for the game's mission of the same name. It begins with an elegant string section, calling into mind the city of Saint Denis and the lavishly devious character of Angelo Bronte. Soon after, an eerie horn emerges into the piece, serving representative to Dutch in a tension-building contrast to Angelo Bronte's strings. The two instruments, while complementing each other, build two separate forms of tension in the same way that the ego-centric, power-hungry personalities of Dutch and Bronte clash with one another. The two personalities dance around with each other until they can no longer coexist. The horns build, rapid guitar strums emerge, then we experience an unnerving high set of strings, right before everything stops all at once for a brief moment. In that brief moment, Dutch kills Bronte. Right as it passes, a heavy string section crashes in to represent Arthur Morgan's horror www.gamehubfans.com in realizing just how far Dutch has strayed from the man he once k

In Red Dead Redemption , the Elegant Suit is possibly the most iconic look in the entire game, and it is something people will be very familiar with as it is needed in order for you to 100% complete the g

An often overlooked, yet essential aspect of a good visual narrative is the music. Whether it be a movie, television show, or video game, if the story contains some type of emotional element, it becomes the music's job to drive that element home. If you played Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 last year, you experienced a story with a fair amount of emotional complexity that challenged the themes of loyalty, morality, and freedom, and did so in a way that resembled nothing short of a masterpiece. Like most stories of this nature, an enormous bow was needed to tie all of those layers together and create an experience that was just as moving as a movie you'd see at the theater, or a television show that you'd watch at home. Woody Jackson's The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Score serves as that metaphorical bow, elevating the game to be the immersive, unforgettable experience that is Red Dead Redemption

Especially in the build-up to its release, Red Dead Redemption 2 was poised to be a game with no bounds. From the images and trailers I viewed consistently, the hype was as glorious as Grand Theft Auto V 's, maybe even bigger. Games like Nier and The Last of Us attained similar spells of immense hype, yet that same energy is still there. With The Last of Us 2 slated for release sometime later this year, the hype is ever-present and swirling, thanks to Troy Baker . Now, nearly a year into its life cycle, Red Dead Redemption 2 is faced with questions about quality. What could have been done better? Why has the hype all but dissipated? And what's with all the horse man
