Sometimes cut the patch level with the edge of the bead sometimes wrap it around, refit the tyre and then trim it level with the top of the rim. I have decided to sell my perfect condition Instinct Solar Crossover, in blue, I bought it new from Garmin Nov 22 and it’s hardly been used, as I wear my Apple Watch daily. @paddy0091 I've used my Swim2 for a couple of years doing regular lane sets. It tracks lengths well, though you do have to make sure not to switch stroke mid length.
The battery life degrades over time, more so the more you use the watch. I can get a couple of commutes - 4 hours worth of riding out of mine, but I'd need to recharge it each week, and the charger connection over time has become more than a little finicky. It needs to be 'just so' to charge and any nudge or movement will break the connection now.
While you’re here…
I have a Fenix 6 Pro Solar (47mm) and feel the same. Not having a touch screen is a bonus in my eyes, they're a PITA whenever it gets wet. I can understand if you are a solid user of Garmin Connect, or have other Garmin devices. Buy 2nd hand if you can, BUY XANAX WITHOUT PRESCRITION they're not worth full RRP IMO. Another half price Epix 2 from the PSA here, really happy with it. Screen is miles better than some of the other Garmins I have seen.
My wife’s got one and as far as I can tell she never has to charge it, the 265S lasts a max of 6 days but only if you don’t actually record anything on it. Lasts much longer if you turn off the display but then there’s no point in having such a nice screen. I do have a mate who records his rides on the Strava app on his phone, and also his Garmin, but just never syncs his Garmin, treating it like a dumb cycle computer, He's not got a Garmin connect account or anything.

From reviews, I understand the current generation are much better at this than previous. Both bought second hand on vinted for £80 (three years ago) and £180 (Christmas this year). Both rock solid, currently on 2 weeks ish battery life but tend to charge it up after a week. I think they work well as second hand buys, where you just wipe them and start again. Well made, bombproof, and just work well every time.
RACE HIGHLIGHTS, Elite Men, Les Gets Round 7:
Activities record on the 840, load to Strava and are visible on the watch, Garmin Connect and Strava (and my Apple Watch !)once all synced. For those that do want to track everything, a little commitment to setting up the watch and customising the displays will help you get the most out of it. It’s not terribly intuitive, so expect to sit down with instructions and how-to guides – which are all there on the Polar website. Once you’ve got your head around that, the Polar Flow app is an extensive and in-depth training assistant, and the Polar Grit X a watch worthy of consideration if you’re serious about your outdoor sports. If you don’t think this particular watch is the one for you, the ease of use of the Polar Flow app and its reliable watch/phone connections makes me think that other watches from the Polar range would be well worth a look.
Wearing a bold all-white outfit, Brosnan needed a big performance to offset the wrath of the team kit manager and he produced one – beating the best time by nine seconds to go straight into the hot seat. Filthy conditions greeted the riders, alongside one of the biggest crowds of the season, and Marine Cabirou (Canyon CLLCTV Factory Team) responded in the women’s Elite race with a morale-boosting run to the hotseat. He was fascinated when I showed him how my Garmin devices auto-upload and then Garmin push the log to Strava... I've never had to disable the optical to make the chest strap work......
It’s better than the recent aliens shite that preceded it, but that’s a really super low bar to start with. And… they have computers that make a noise when data appears on the screen! Like they had in scifi before everyone had screens. I've enjoyed the two episodes but I'm not sure it's quite as good as critics have made it out to be. I also wondered how everyone just seems to take alien life for granted when IIRC in Aliens it's made clear that nothing has been found up to that point.
If I go to sleep with it loosened, it doesn’t always accurately record my heart rate, so it can’t tell when I’m sleeping. It also doesn’t ‘sleep’ when you’re sleeping, so if you do wake up and check the time, you can find that it’s merrily suggesting a cardio workout, and that you should get up and move about. Meh, none of it really matters as it all ultimately goes on Connect/Strava/Velo Viewer. I tend to just take my edge for rides, the Sunday ride is the time of week I leave my watch on charge, and especially for mountain biking why risk two bits of expensive tech on a crash. In regular use, daily short recorded walks and one or two long bike rides a week, the battery goes at least 2 weeks before getting anyhere near needing charging - I do not see the value in the solar version for this reason. Couple of things now that it's a couple of years old (more like 5-6 actually).
I would simply record any activity you do on just one device, you can still wear your watch (which will count steps?) but only press record on your edge... So I start both devices and at end of ride, I usually stop the Edge and save it. Once I see it's saved I then stop and discard the one on the watch. I think that the watch will record my bike ride in some form or another as it'll see my HR go through the roof but it won't know why. There's an option to set a 'preferred activity tracker' but that appears to be for steps and waffly metrics not the actual activities. I guess I can manually delete stuff if I need to.
